Memory Keepers
Hi all!
I wanted to use this Ludumdare to check out Godot engine and get familiar with it. I watched some tutorials and created a small prototype.
I only had about 8 hours to spend on this game jam, so I started with coming up with the game idea. As the theme was limited space and I am often having issues with the storage on my phone, I need to delete some photos to take new ones (and I am lazy with transferring the photos to another storage).
Gameplay is that you capture the photos of balloons(!), but you have limited storage. You can move with arrow keys and jump with space. To capture a photo use C key.
If your storage is full, you need to find a linker and transfer the photos. You get points according to number of balloons you have captured within these 5 shots.
Godot Engine was really fun to play with and I would love to work on this project more next week. I still need to figure out why my body_entered signal does not work with the "linker" box. I also saved the captured photos, but need to implement another scene to display them like a photo album. Of course with more objects and environment, it would be more interesting, but overall I am happy with the progress I made on a new engine.
I also wanna have some missions, like capturing objects with a specific color or something like "capture photos predominantly featuring warm/cold colors", but that requires more modelling and adding more elements.
